The Ultra Micro Fibre Quality Standard

Our top quality Ultra Microfibre conforms with the following criteria:

MICROFIBRE THICKNESS

The thickness of our products is measured in denier that is defined as follows:

1 den = 9000 m fibre/gram. Ultra micro fibre is less than 0.3 den.

MICROFIBRE COMPOSITION

The composition of our products is a mixture of polyester and polyamide. The composition is: 70% polyester, 30% polyamide on Premium products and 80% Polyester, 20% Polyamide on Standard and Eco Wipe products.

MICROFIBRE WASHING

All our products will withstand boiling and tumble drying without quality reduction. Please take extra care when washing your microfibre cloths for the first time, We strongly recommend you wash colours separately on the first wash, especially if washing darker colours. Please ensure all dark colours are washed separately on first wash and are washed before first use. Washing at 30 degrees will reduce any leaching or running of dye. Our Quality products are guaranteed for a maximum of 300 washes. 

MICROFIBRE SHRINKAGE

Our products adhere to the following:

  • Cloths: 2% maximum in any direction
  • Towels: 2% maximum in any direction
  • Mops: 2% maximum in any direction

Our textile quality is paramount. Our products are guaranteed not to fall apart after washing especially at the edges. Our manufacturing process is proven. Flat woven to the highest knitting standards and then the fibres are mechanically split to ensure our Microfibre products are the finest quality available.

Caring for Paragon Microfibre - Microfibe Technology - Cloths, Mops and Towels

All Microfibre Technology - Cloths, Mops, Fleeces and Towels, are best kept if washed in their own group of colours to prevent any colour running.

All Microfibre Technology - Cloths, Mops and Towels can be laundered at low temperatures to save energy - if required. Excellent results can be achieved at washing temperatures as low as 30 degrees Celsius. However, best results are achieved laundering at temperatures up-to 80 degrees Celsius - but this is not essential.

Washing detergents should not contain fabric softener as they reduce the anti-static properties of Microfibre Technology in Cloths, Mops and Towels when used on dry surfaces.

Use only "HALF" the "NORMAL/RECOMMENDED" amount of detergent required or recommended by detergent manufacturers - weight of washing load and set rinse cycle to maximum time per weight of washing load.
In-order for all detergent to be removed from the micro-fibres in Cloths, Mops and Towels after being laundered. Insufficient rinsing may result in surface smearing during usage.

Do not use bleach or bleach based products when laundering as this will permanently damage the Microfibres in Microfibe Technology - Cloths, Mops and Towels.

Once laundered, Microfibe Technology - Cloths, Mops and Towels may be used damp - straight-away. For dry use after laundering of Microfibe Technology - Cloths, Mops and Towels they should be tumble-dried for optimum cleaning performance. Do not tumble-dry for extended periods of time or at temperatures that exceed 70 degrees celcius.

The Correct Care of your Microfibe Technology - Cloths, Mops and Towels will ensure optimum performance for at least 1 year.

 

The Science behind Paragon Microfibre Technology

How Microfibre Works 

Microfibre consists of very fine threads of polyester and polyamide (nylon) that combine to form a single thread. One Microfibre is 100 times thinner than a single strand of human hair. When they are woven together, the Microfibres create a surface area 40 times greater than that of a regular fibre. Due to this expanded surface area, and to the capillary action of the fine threads, Microfibre Cloth has dramatically enhanced absorbing power. Microfibre is traditionally defined as a fibre with a denier of less than one. Denier is a measure of the thinness of a fibre and is the weight in grams of a continuous fibre of 9,000 meters. Due to its incredibly thin structure, Microfibre is able to penetrate the finest microscopic particles of dirt and grease on any surface. Split Microfibre, as it is more specifically described, possesses numerous wedges rather than the rounded threads found in ordinary cloth. This wedge structure is what provides the superior penetration of grease and oil verses that of common fabrics.

In addition, the rounded fibres on most cloths only push the dirt along the surface, whereas the wedge-shaped Microfibres grab the particles of grime and pull them into the dense internal structure.
Microfibre has two polymers: polyester and polyamide. Polyester is lyophillic, or has an affinity to oil, so that oil and grease adhere directly to the fibres. Polyamide is hydrophilic, which means it has an affinity to water. As a result, any type of dirt is very quickly and completely removed with Microfibre, leaving a sparkling-clean, streak-free surface. Microfibre cleans any surface without streaking, smearing, or scratching. Ordinary towels move or push dirt and dust from one place to another. Microfibre actually lifts or scoops the dirt and stores the dirt particles in the towel, until it is washed. In addition, Microfibre can absorb up to seven times its weight in fluids. Microfibre cloths are also extremely durable. They can be washed up to 500 times and still maintain their effectiveness: This makes it an exceptionally cost effective cleaning product.

Dry Clean

Dry Surface Cleaning

Is used dry for removing dust and loose particles from all hard surfaces. As it is wiped over a surface it creates a static charge that attracts dirt to the cloth, the micro fibre then 'holds' the dirt until the cloth is washed.

Wet Clean

Wet Surface Cleaning

Is used damp to remove heavier soilings from all hard surfaces. The micro fibres work through capillary action, drawing dirt into the cloth. Once the cloth is dirty, place in laundry bag and continue cleaning with a clean cloth.
